Nancy LaVoice

October 13, 2024 - September 19, 2010

Nancy Jean (Danielson) LaVoice, 57, of McCandless Township, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, following a short illness. Beloved wife of Thomas LaVoice; devoted mother of Patricia Marraty and her husband, Michael Ashton; proud grandmother of Hunter Ashton and future grandmother of another on the way; loving sister of Linda Kriss, Sue Martin and Robert Danielson; daughter of the late Richard and Anabel Danielson. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends. Nancy was born and raised in Hampstead, N.H., and was a 1971 graduate of Pinkerton Academy. She enjoyed New Hampshire’s scenic beauty, returning to visit family often. Her and Tom made many lifelong friends since settling in Pittsburgh in the early 1980s. She was most recently employed at SAE. She and Tom were members of St John Neumann Church and enjoyed their Renew group. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and caring friend. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime, especially with her grandson. She was a great cook and loved to experiment with recipes. She and Tom enjoyed many travels together including a cross-country adventure, cruises and an annual family baseball trip. Everyone turned to Nancy for a shoulder to cry on and a calm reassurance anytime you needed it. She will be sorely missed by all those dear to her. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, 724-772-8800. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John Neumann Church, 2230 Rochester Road, Pittsburgh.
