Monica “Mona” Louise (Brust)

Age 61, of Pine Twp., on Friday, February 12, 2016; Beloved wife for 37 years of Keith (his sweetheart); Loving mother of Joshua (Jessica), Jacob (Ashley), and Chelsea Young; Proud grandmother of Chanel; Daughter of Lois and the late John Brust; Sister of Clark Brust (Sandy); Sister-in-law of Kevin Young (MaryKay), and the late Kenneth Young (Survived by Tammie); Aunt of Kalynn, Jillian, Jordan, Zach, Seth, and Zac; Also survived by many loving friends and relatives. Mona inspired many through her strong Catholic faith, courage and the acceptance of her suffering during her almost 2 year battle with brain cancer. She impacted many in a very positive manner and changed hearts during her illness. Besides having strong support from her family Mona had tremendous help from so many people in the community. Special blessings to her many friends from Wexford Elementary School, her neighbors, St. Alphonsus Parish, Catholic Hospice, Home Instead caregivers, UPMC Hillman doctors and nurses, and all the people who prayed for her. Mona graduated from Indiana University of PA and she enjoyed a career at Wexford Elementary teaching and supporting autistic and learning disabled children. She was also an active member of St. Alphonsus Church. Friends received Sunday and Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Rd., (724) 772-8800. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin Fazio at St. Alphonsus Church, Wexford, on Tuesday at 10AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, www.ccpgh.org, or the Red Door Program, 202 Stanwix St., Pgh, PA 15222.
