Miriam (Spoehr) Hummel, of Ross, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007. Beloved wife of Richard L. Hummel; loving mother of Dr. Mary Louise Hummel, of Greensboro, N.C., and Miriam Buresh Peterson (Scott), of Franklin Park; sister of Dr. Luther W. Spoehr (Jane); dear grandmother of Alexandra L., Alfred, Beth L. and Timothy C. Buresh and Christie Herald; great-grandmother of Benjamin Herald. Miriam taught languages in Slippery Rock High School, North Hills, North Allegheny and Shaler High School, retiring in 1986. Visitation 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday in Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Bethel Park.
