Mike was a wonderful friend – he taught me how to shoot a gun and hunt doves. His parents and sisters always opened their doors to the ‘Beast Crew;’ understated and chock full of humility Mike and his family were the glue that bound us together. When not at practice or school we couldn’t wait to head to the Monteverdes as well as the Zubik’s. I recall Craig, Brian, Trav, John, Phil, Shawn, Sean and so many others watching Buster Douglas beat up Mike Tyson in ‘90; we were sophomores. Mike and the guys took care of us when our father passed – recall sitting in the woods behind their house as we normally would, Mike full of support as always. The accident, time and life took all of us in different directions but we’ll always think of our best days in high school in OT, with the Monteverdes and our friends. Rest In Peace.
