Age 85, of Ross Twp., peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Beloved wife for 62 years of Lawrence “Larry” Burwinkel; loving mother of Jeffrey (Lynn), Maura Counahan (Paul), Karen Shepherd, David (Lisa), Barbara Mucci (Jeff), and Lisa Donevant (Len); proud grandmother of 15; and great-grandmother of two; also survived by many loving friends and relatives. Friends received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa of Avila Church. The family would like to thank all of Maura’s caregivers for the support and kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the UPMC Cancer Center at Passavant, 9100 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

I just heard of Maura’s death. My sympathy to all of the kids I had in class, cheerleading, etc. Your Mom was a great person who I enjoyed knowing during my years at North Hills.
