Mary Virginia, age 92 of McCandless Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Beloved wife of George M. Hein for 67 years.
Cherished mother of three sons, David A. Hein (Lynn), James M. Hein (Frances), and John R. Hein. Loving and proud grandmother of Andrew, Alexander, Brendan, and Jaclyn Hein.
Devoted daughter of the late August Gatto and Sara Spagnolo Gatto. Dear sister of the late Joseph C. Gatto.
Mary Virginia was a longtime parishioner of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Her devotion to her faith was unshakable. She was a prayer warrior, saying the rosary every night before bed. Mary Virginia was an accomplished pianist, providing countless hours of fun for family and friends, and especially her grandchildren. She loved to dance, and along with her husband, took up line, round and square dancing. Mary Virginia was an exceptional baker, with cookies being her specialty. When Mary Virginia made a commitment to something, she gave it one hundred percent, whether it was her scholastic studies or her ability to make lasting friendships even with casual acquaintances. Her phenomenal memory and keen interest regarding people she met made her so endearing to all. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Dear John and family, I want to express my deepest sympathy to your father, to you, and to the family. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out.

Rest in paradise my dear, beautiful friend. I’ll always remember her kindness and laughter, movie outings and learning that my great Aunt taught her to play the piano. Love and prayers to her wonderful family.
