Age 87, formerly of Ingomar, died on March 11 in Beverly Hills, California.
Born on August 31, 1929, to the late Edward Stephen and Ella Theresa (McLaughlin) Holdcroft, she was raised in Bellevue with her five brothers and two sisters. A graduate of St. Benedict’s Academy, she married the late Norman Roos on August 2, 1952. Together they raised five children as they moved about New York, California, and Virginia. In 1991, she and Norman retired back to Pittsburgh. Marilou enjoyed nothing more than putting on a dinner party – the more the merrier – and making hundreds of buckeyes every winter for family and friends.
She is survived by her brothers – James Holdcroft of Ohio Twp, and Daniel Holdcroft of Ross Twp – and her sister, Helen “Pat” Fitzpatrick of Ingomar. She is also survived by her five children – Norman (Mary), Donald (Dan Bucatinsky), and David (Lisa Richard) Roos, Ellen Swarts (Robert), and Amy (Lorin) Flemming; eight grandchildren – Mary Kate (fiancé Ty Gordon) and Joey Roos, Eliza and Jonah Bucatinsky, Crysta and Brian Swarts, and Grayson and Gus Flemming; and one great-granddaughter, Ava Marie Gordon. She will also be deeply missed by her sisters-in-law Mary Pepmeyer of Glenshaw, Peggy Holdcroft of Allison Park, and Marjorie Roos of Cary, North Carolina, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Robert “Bones”, and Paul Holdcroft, and her sister Margaret Birsic, as well as her parents and Norman, her husband of 59 years.
Friends received on Sunday from 2-7pm at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Alexis Church on Monday at 10am. .
