Mary Samosky, 98, of Brentwood, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017, with her son Joseph Samosky and her daughter-in-law Ashley Williams-Samosky by her side. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Samosky. She was the loving sister of Frank Raynak, the late Michael J. Raynak, the late Margaret Mundt, the late Father Joseph Raynak, and the late Emma Dubyak. Her memory is cherished by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and her “grand-pug” Samson. Mary’s friends and family are invited to remember and celebrate her life at her viewing Monday from 9AM-10:30AM at Vincentian Home Personal Care, 111 Perrymont Rd. Pgh, PA 15237 (Building 5), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Vincentian Chapel at 11AM. Mary requested that instead of flowers, she would appreciate donations be made to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, www.ccphg.org, to help others. Mary was born on October 18, 1918. Following graduation from Oliver High School she studied business at the Pittsburgh Academy and was the executive secretary to the president of the Shields Rubber Company. For many years she cared for her mother, Pauline Raynak, until her death at the age of 95. She found the love of her life in her husband and inseparable partner Tom. They along with their son Joe enjoyed gardening, Slovak cooking, vacations at the shore and the profound pleasures of simple togetherness with family and friends.
