Mallory Ries

Mallory (Burns) Ries, 67, of Allison Park, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, with her husband by her side. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to William Campbell Ries; loving mother to William Sheehan (Lindsay) and Sean David (Megan); and devoted grandmother to Lily Ella, John Sheehan, William Campbell II and Declan James. Politically and civically active in local politics since childhood, Mallory served as a member of the McCandless Republican Committee and as one of the founding organizers and volunteers for McCandless Community Day. Mallory was also dedicated to greyhound rescue and participated with her beloved dogs in local meet-and-greets and other educational and fundraising efforts to support greyhound adoption. A GED teacher before retirement, Mallory was proud that her classes had among the highest success rates for students taking the graduate equivalency exam.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRABERRY, 2678 Rochester Road in Cranberry Twp.. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry Twp., followed by a burial service at Allegheny County Memorial Park in McCandless.
Memorial donations in Mallory’s honor may be sent to Going Home Greyhounds, P.O. Box 513, Wexford, PA 15090 or to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Heart Association , 444 Liberty Ave., No. 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
