Louis W. Zegarelli of Cranberry Township, formerly of McMurray, PA, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022. Born on May 7, 1931 in Pittsburgh, PA. Son of the late Angelo and Victoria Zegarelli. Beloved husband of 67 years to the late Elizabeth R. (Rosa) Zegarelli; loving father of three sons, Dino (MaryAnn), Louis (Tammy), and Dale Zegarelli; brother of Richard (Sally) Zegarelli; proud grandfather of seven grandchildren; John, Lory Farrow (Carl), Julie Monfredi (Jonathan), Brandon (Kimberlee), Lauren Meiners (Travis), Blake and Leigh-Andrea; and ten great-grandchildren. A graduate of Westinghouse High School at the age of 16 and the University of Pittsburgh with a BS Degree in Civil Engineering in 1951. Louis served in the U.S. Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant from 1951 to 1953.

Over the years to follow, he was a member of the Peter’s Township Planning Commission, League Director for the Peter’s Township Baseball Association and Manager to his son’s baseball teams. He loved sports, especially the Steelers, but his greatest passion was Big Band music. He was an accomplished saxophone player who led the 17-piece band, “Big Band Memories” and performed concerts throughout the Pittsburgh area from 2002 – 2015.

He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend that will be missed by everyone who knew him. Friends received Monday, May 9, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp., PA 16066. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday May 10, 2022 at St. Ferdinand Church, 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
