Louis C. Bishop, 93, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, in Sherwood Oaks Life Care Community, Cranberry. He previously resided in Ingomar, Lake Latonka and Venice, Fla. He was the husband of the late Clarissa (Cris) Bishop for 63 years. Surviving are daughter, Lynn Lynn (Terry, deceased), of Amelia Island, Fla.; son, Jay (Dana), of Stow, Ohio; daughter, Jan Closson (Bill), of Franklin Park; sister, Elva Schilpp, of Beaver County; grandchildren, Shawn Bishop (Claudia), Kevin Lynn (Maureen), Jenna Hudock (TJ), Crissa Gillette (John), Brittany Frederick and Landon Frederick; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Ingomar Methodist Church for more than 65 years; management 35 years, Merck & Co., Calgon Industrial Division; pioneer of and contributor to the art, science and literature of Industrial Process and Power Plant water treatment. He was an early member of Sherwood Oaks Life Care Community Executive Board; past Explorer Scout leader, Friends of Scouting chair, recipient of the Silver Beaver for longtime service to boyhood. A visionary leader, mover and shaker in all endeavors. A loving husband and father; family first. A touch of humor was sprinkled on all that he touched. In lieu of flowers, donations to Laurel Highlands Council Boy Scouts, 1275 Bedford Ave., Flag plaza, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, 724-772-8800. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Ingomar United Methodist Church, 1501 W. Ingomar Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, followed by a light lunch. Everyone please meet at the church.
