Leonard G. Joseph
Leonard George Joseph, 93, of McCandless, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2016. He was the beloved husband of the late Elma Claire (Emminger) Joseph; loving father of Patricia A. Joseph, Susan J. Hansen (Will), Mary Beth Kim (Charles), Richard D. Joseph (Melissa), Jeanne C. Brander (Norman) and Gregory L. Joseph (Jonette); dear grandfather of Richard Kim, Joseph Brander, Steven Hansen and Allison Degnan; great-grandfather of Charlotte and Josephine Kim and Emily and Matthew Hansen. Lenn attended the University of Pittsburgh on the first Highland Country Club Caddy Scholarship. He was a retired metallurgical engineer, past president of the Electric Metal Makers Guild, a retired lieutenant commander and naval aviator. He was a lifelong recreational pilot and served 53 years as an usher at St. Alexis church.
Family and friends received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alexis Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association .
I am very sorry to hear of Len’s passing. I spent a number of years in the Electric Metal Makers Guild with him. I had the opportunity to become a member of the Executive Committee and Len was always very helpful to me especially during my term as President. I always enjoyed hearing his stories about his time in the Steel Industry and especially his time serving our country. He was a true gentleman that will be missed but never forgotten.
