LAURA “JANE” (THOMPSON)
Age 88, formerly of Perrysville, Ross Twp. and currently of Oakmont, on Thursday October 25, 2012. Wife of the late James Robert “Bob” Divins, Loving Mother of Barbara Divins Guerriero (Sam) of Powell, Ohio and James E. “Jim” Divins of Keyser, WV. Dear Aunt of Carole Moore Breitweiser (Bill) of Fredericktown, Pa. and Thomas E. “Tim” Moore of California, Pa. Also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews and their families. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved sister Leota “Belle” Thompson Moore and her brother Bernard “Bus” Thompson after all three left their childhood home of Punxsutawney, Pa. Jane was a pre-school instructor for over thirty years and an active member of Hiland Presbyterian Church. She served on numerous church advisory and planning committees, assisted with multiple Vacation Bible Schools, and chaired a women’s circle before moving to Oakmont. With many other mothers, Jane was a dedicated and busy “Hot Dog Lady” monthly volunteer for Perrysville Elementary School before hot lunches were regularly provided to the students. In 2006 Jane moved into Westminister Place, an assisted living residence in Oakmont, Pa., sponsored by Presbyterian Senior Care. Friends and family will be received Monday 2-4, 6-8 PM at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. North Hills, where services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Allegheny Co. Memorial Park Mausoleum. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd. Pittsburgh, Pa., 15237.
Soooo true! And just shared aronud the office. 🙂 (21 is definitely “Dirty Dancing” for me! Then again, first time I saw it I was about 5 and following the subtitles. But uh, mainly because I was 5!)
