Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Monday at 10AM.
Kenneth W. Bixby of South Heights, PA passed away on September 8, 2026. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth E. and Anne M. Bixby. Ken is survived by his sister Ruth Gesselberty and her spouse John, his brothers Jack Bixby and his spouse Janet, Robert Bixby and his spouse Jill and Roy Bixby and his spouse Lisa. Also left to mourn his passing are his beloved nieces Katy Harper and spouse Jon, Kelly Frank and spouse Steve, Kristen Bixby and spouse Chris, Mary Anne Bixby, Renee Bixby and his cherished nephew Thomas Bixby and spouse Leah, caring great nephews Aiden Park, Jameson Park, Grady Frank and Kent Bixby, and precious great nieces Lexington Pittman and spouse Brennan, Everly Frank, Harlow Frank and Eris Bixby.
Ken was born in Cleveland, Ohio and resided in Euclid, Ohio through his graduation from high school when he matriculated to college and ultimately to the Pittsburgh area. Ken was a proud graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Cleveland, and of the University of Dayton and devotedly played both the oboe and the glockenspiel in the band. Ken spent 30+ years with Jones & Laughlin Steel Company, and J&L Structural, in the Aliquippa works as an Industrial Engineer where he also developed friendships and great memories that lasted his entire life.
Ken enjoyed the many seasons that he coached little league baseball for Berkeley Hills.
Ken was also an animal lover who cared for many feline companions over the years.
Ken loved to travel – most notably to Nova Scotia and Albuquerque to visit old friends and by returning to the same locations made new ones. In his earlier years many enjoyable weekends were spent at the cottages he owned at Canadohta Lake, sharing time and memories with his Aunt Rita and Uncle Tom and his cousins and their families. Ken was generous in all aspects, and especially loved the time spent with his nieces, nephew and their children.
Special thanks go to nieces Katy Harper and Kristen Bell who spent numerous hours assisting Ken, especially in the final year of his life. Their contributions were instrumental in making Ken’s last few months more comfortable.
