Keith David Guthrie, 72, passed away on Monday December 2, 2024 Surrounded by his family. Son of the late Wesley and LaVerne Guthrie; husband of 35 years to Suzy Grant Guthrie; father to William (Chrystie) Grant of Ohio Township; Justin (Julie) Guthrie of McCandless, Ashley (Chuck) Hauliska of North Huntington; grandfather to Matthew, Kendall, Madeleine, Khloe, Mya, Leah, Clementine, Andrew; brother to Terry (Karen) Guthrie; uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Keith was in the signal corps branch of the Army. He was a police officer and then detective for Wilkinsburg. After being with Allegheny County police for a short time, he settled in as a police officer in his home town of Wilkins Township. He was promoted to Sergeant and then moved up to Chief Of Police until retiring in March 2009. While working as an officer. Keith also founded his own small business, Dynasty Security.
Keith enjoyed golfing with friends any chance he could get. He also had a pilot license and enjoyed flying.

Keith. I am really saddened at your passing. I remember when you were hired at Wilkinsburg. You used to come into Ed & Tim’s Market on Peebles Street. You were always very friendly to me and we became fast friends. Gods speed to you brother. 🙏🏻

Suzy and family….. My sincere and deepest sympathy in the passing of Keith. A good man and good police officer.. serving Wilkins Two. for many years. Prayers for you and your family. I learned of Keith’s passing just today Sat. I felt terrible I could not pay my respects. May Keith RIP. God Bless and be with you Suzy thru this difficult time

Ui and I just learned of Keith’s passing from Denny DeMelker. Keith was one of the founders of the Cops vs HUD golfing wars, as you know and knowing that one of that circle of friends is gone is profoundly sad. Ui and I immediately began recounting nights at the Sand Trap, raucous card games and threats of mutual automobile destruction if Keith and Park didn’t stop sticking lemon slices under the windshield wipers of Ui’s car (did you even realize how mature we were?).
