Age 88, of McCandless, on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Karl was born in Bellevue on February 26, 1925, the eldest son of the late Mary and Karl Liedke, Sr; Beloved wife of Joan (Pickens); Loving father Richard Liedke (Deborah) of Pittsburgh, Robert Liedke (Mary Pat) of Atlanta, and Jan Kerestly (George) of Pittsburgh; Proud grandfather of Christopher Liedke (Maryana), Robert Liedke, Jr. (Megan), William Liedke (Courtaney), Jena Kerestly, Ali Kerestly, and the late Michelle Liedke; Great-grandfather of Aubrey; Brother of the late Thomas Liedke (the late Shirlee); Also survived by loving nieces and one nephew. Friends will be received on Sunday 5-8PM at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. A Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church on Monday 10AM. Karl served his country in major campaigns in the European Theater during World War 2. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he attended Duquesne and Penn State University, followed by a long career at US Steel as a Purchasing Executive. Karl had many passions, including the Steelers, Pirates, and most importantly golf, which he loved to play at Shannopin Country Club.
