Julia Kubacki

March 29, 2024 - May 01, 2014

Age 88, formerly of Beechview and Knoxville, and recently lived at the Concordia community in Cranberry. Julia passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2014, with her family by her side. Julia was born in Palena, Italy on August 22, 1925, to Anthony and Anna Salvi. Her family came to the U.S. after WWII where she met her husband, Joseph, in language school and citizenship classes. They were married for 58 years. Her primary vocation in life was as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a skilled seamstress and worked with her husband at their tailor shop on Knox Avenue and also at Price’s of Oakland. Sundays were special for Julia, with worship at St. George (later at St. Pamphilus and St. Killian), and then a feast of Italian food (spaghetti, ravioli, lasagna, and other homemade dishes, all so very good). Julia was lovingly known as “Nonni” to her five grandchildren, with whom she shared every occasion. She had an unwavering belief and steady guidance from the Lord. She passed on to God a few minutes after last rites were administered. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Sherry of Marshall Township; son, Ray of Beechview; daughter, Maria and son-in-law, Tim Wesley of Cranberry Township; grandsons, Garrett and Drew Kubacki of Marshall Township; granddaughters, Amanda, Megan and Hannah Wesley of Cranberry Township; and her sister, Josephine Ferrera of Yonkers, New York. Friends will be received on Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kilian’s Church, 205 Clark Street, Mars, PA, on Monday at 11 a.m.
