My dad used North Hills Sales & Service dating back to around 1972. I have been going to Joe to get lawn mowers and snow blowers fixed since I can remember. Always a nice and pleasant man to deal with. Although I didn’t know him very well I will miss seeing him and wish his family the best.

Joe was a truly kind man. 30+ years ago he took the time to teach me about how to work on engines when I was just a kid. I loved his quick wit and sense of humor. You never knew just what he was going to say. Who knew that used lawnmower parts were “experienced”, “previously owned”, or “vintage”? Coming to his shop was like stepping into his living room – everybody was welcomed as a friend. Rest in peace, my friend.

    Chris and family,

My sincere condolences on the passing of this wonderful man. One wouldn’t think a trip to the service shop would be fun, but Joe’s welcoming nature, unique humor, and sense of fairness made it so. For 40 years I both trusted him and valued him as a friend. I will miss him, but good people like Joe will most assuredly, and deservedly, rest in eternal peace.

My deepest sympathy to the Ciccone family my prayers are with you. Joe will be missed so much it is hard to put into words he just had a way about him that when I would stop it was like spending time with my uncles. The stories and the knowledge he passed on to me and I’am sure a lot of others will never be forgotten.

Thank you for your military service and travel well my friend. I will miss you.

Sorry to hear of the death of your Father! He was a great person and help me a lot when it came to lawn equipment and always treated me very well but I think that is how he treated everyone! I was very sorry to hear about Joe’ passing. He would fix my lawnmower at the most reasonable price. He was the kindest ,heart-warming fun guy who showed a lot of humility just by talking with him. There were a lot of people in his shop and he would always give his attention to everyone in a humorous way. He would tell me to keep your lawnmower as long as you can because these new ones are made of plastic.Eternal rest grant unto him our Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

    Chris and family,

So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. He was a very special individual and had a heart of gold. It was a true pleasure to have work done at the shop. He was always upbeat and lifted my spirits. I will truly miss him and his contagious smile and laughter.
