Joseph Steiger

Age 56, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1999, passed away on March 12, 2015 at his home in Colorado Springs. He had retired after serving his country for more than twenty years in the United States Air Force.
Joseph Michael Steiger was born on October 16, 1958 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late John and Mary Steiger. He was raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from North Hills High School in 1976. He married Darlene Margaret Whiteside on December 22, 1984 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
During his 20 year military career, he was stationed at Homestead AFB, Lakenheath AFB, Moody AFB, Hanscom AFB, and Peterson AFB in Colorado Springs where he retired. He also served in the Gulf War.
He enjoyed working and spending time with his family. He will be best remembered for his generosity. He was the husband of the late Darlene Margaret (Whiteside) Steiger and is survived by his two sons, Joseph M. Steiger, Jr. and Nicholas Steiger.
Friends and family will be received Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
