Michele, Mr. and Mrs. Austin, and Ray, I know there are no words to bring you comfort right now. You are all in my prayers and thoughts. We are all truly blessed to have had such a wonderful friend as Joe “Cracker”. He was a true and loyal friend to all of us. He always made me smile and laugh! I will treasure the many eventful Steelers and Jimmy Buffett times we shared! I will miss you Joe.

Michele, May God and the loving memories of a life well lived help comfort you. My heart breaks for all who grew up and had the blessing to know Joey. I can still hear him coming in my parents house saying Mrs. S, Mr. S. He was like a second son to them. He and our dad and brother would talk fantasy football. He and our brother were the best of friends. Joey was always there for our brother no matter what. Joe’s heart and soul were bigger than the smile he always had on his face. It’s surreal that a life, so full of life and love has been taken too soon. As our mom called them,The Boys…we pray you find comfort in your memories and remember to cherish each day.. When God needs another Angel he takes the best first. Hug your loved ones, be kind and smile. It’s what Joe would do. Hey Joey give Mrs.S and Mr.S hugs for us. As you rest upon angels wings, swing by and gives those left behind your angelic hug of comfort and love. We love you Joey. Truly one of a kind and one of the best.

I’m just speechless, I only found out last night talking to Tom Lindsey. Joe was such a great guy and always had a smile, I wasn’t close to him but close enough to know how nice he always was. Last memory was seeing him and the gang here 10 years ago for his wedding, it was a fantastic time. God bless you Joe and all of those you have positively impacted

I met Joe about 25 years ago when he made his first delivery to my funeral home. For several years, he and I were similar. We did not own the companies we worked for, but we shared our thoughts as how to keep the companies moving forward with the changes and challenges in the funeral industry. Joe was an asset to the Media Casket Co. and he was available when I needed him. We had some serious conversations, we joked, and yes complained about some things. Rest in Peace Joe.

Joe was possibly my best friend in funeral service. I always tried to make my preneed sales his as he always had the highest level of service. We talked about Ocean City and Dewey Beach a lot. I even texted him immediately when my grandchildren were born. I shall miss him terribly as I already have since I retired in February. He will always be on my mind just because of the impression he made.
Placing an order with him and seeing him on delivery were my greatest pleasures.
God bless your family and Joe.

My heart goes out to you Michele, family, and all of our friends. Joe or as we all knew him “Cracker” had a thirst for life. He lived life to the fullest. Any moment spent with Joe was a great time and he always made you laugh. I will miss his infectious smile, his laugh, and his zest for life. I cherish the memories I was fortunate enough to have spent with him. Rest in peace my friend until we meet again. 💔
