Age 65, of Franklin Park, on Saturday, October 3, 2020. Beloved husband of Susan (Herb)(Rylander), Loving Stepfather of Dr. Christine Herb (Andrew Cook) and John Herb, Jr. (Amanda); Proud grandfather of Elliott and Hayden Cook , and John, Heath, and Levi Herb; Brother of Kathleen Martinelli and Joseph Stepchuk (Moria) ; Brother-in-law of June Roderus (George) and Donna Hierta (Joe McClusky); Son of the late John J.,Sr. and the late Celia (Godleski); Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends (especially Lynn Fletcher & Rich Speer). Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 10th from 10-12PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy. Ross Twp. John proudly served in the Marine Corp for over 14 years. He loved his family, the ocean, scuba diving, and a good cigar. Some of his favorite places were The Outer Banks, Florida, and Cozumel. Skip will be missed for sure. He sure went through a time of it and dearly loved you Sue. He is now free from sickness and in a better place. Love June, George and family
I am so sorry for the loss of Skip. I remember being so welcomed every time I came over from the across the street. He always offered me peanut butter crackers and bottled tea. He was such a genuine and loving soul. I will miss him and many thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Sue! Love you guys.

Skip was such a generous, loving person. He had a great sense of humor, and could never do enough for everyone. We will miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Sue and all of your family and Skips family!

We loved seeing Skip and Sue in Cozumel every year and became good friends over the years. We will miss him and send Sue and the rest of the family our deepest condolences.
