John J. Martin, age 71, of North Hills, Pittsburgh, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
John was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late Rosemary and Hugh Martin. He grew up in a variety of cities in PA, IN and NJ, graduated high school in Union Town, PA, and held an accounting and information technology degrees from Robert Morris University. John was employed by UPMC for many years, working mainly at the Western Psychiatric facility.
John lived quietly, kept mostly to himself, but was fortunate to enjoy a lively friendship with his cousin, Jeffrey Haus of Mars, PA and his wife, Anne Monteverde Haus. They took good care of John for many years & John valued and enjoyed their special relationship.
John is predeceased by his parents, Rosemary and Hugh, and his younger brother James P. Martin of Portland, OR. He is survived by older Brother Hugh Martin and his wife Kathleen of San Marcos, CA; his older Sister Mary Pat Henderson and her husband Richard of Petersburg, WV; niece Lauren K. Martin of Carlsbad, CA; nephew Hugh Martin III and his wife Amy of Carlsbad, CA; and niece Kelsey A. Martin of Ambler, PA.
Friends are invited to Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday, August 20th for visitation from 9 AM until time of Blessing Service at 11 AM.

To the family of John Martin,
John was a dear sweet man. He always kept us updated on the lotto jackpots and wishing us luck if we played. He was quick to smile and wish you a good day. He will certainly be missed by his UPMC family.
