John J. Curran Jr., age 70, of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026. He was born on August 28, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late John and Helen Curran.

John was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished Pap, and loyal friend. A carpenter by trade, he took pride in his work and the things he built with his hands. Beyond his work, John found happiness in life’s simple pleasures—walking his dog, spending time with friends over a cold beer, and enjoying good conversation and laughter with those around him, always quick with a joke or story!

He was proud of his Irish heritage and carried that pride with him throughout his life. He loved being Irish, embracing the traditions, humor, and spirit that came with it. His Irish roots were an important part of who he was, and he took great pride in sharing that part of himself with those around him.

John had a curious mind and a special appreciation for the world around him and could often be found watching storms roll in or observing the night sky. Once, even navigating his boat at night using the stars during a trip to Canada.

On May 17, 1986, John married the love of his life, Martha “Marti” Curran. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. His greatest pride and joy were his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as Pap.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Marti; his children, Lindsay (Ryan) and Patrick (Ella); and his cherished granddaughters, Emmilyn, Savannah, Saoirse, and a grandson on the way, Cillian. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mina, and was a caring uncle to Devon (Kaitlyn), Travis (Torie), Jonathan (Erika), Ryan (Kiersten), and Matthew (Kiera)
and great-uncle to Addy & Stella.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John’s life during visitation on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, located at 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, PA. A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Holy Savior Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in John’s memory.

Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
