John F. Murphy, Sr., beloved husband of the late Michele A. (Hennessey) Murphy died peacefully on July 4, 2021. Devoted father of Susan M. Kirsch (Samuel), Michele M. Battle (Glenn), Pamela M. Morse (Christopher), and the late John F. Murphy, Jr. (Anne). Brother of the late Mary E. Murphy, Francis T. Murphy, Jr., and Ruth M. Roche. Loving grandpa to Ryan, Kelly, Patrick, Brendan, Conor, Catie, Sean, Meghan, John III (Jake), Tim, Brigid, Shayla and Declan, six great-grandchildren, and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. John, a graduate of Georgetown Preparatory School and Georgetown University, served in the United States Navy and retired from the Stride Rite Shoe Corporation after a long and successful 32 year career. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with family and friends on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11 am at St. John Neumann Church in Franklin Park, PA.
