Age 69, of West View on July 12, 2007 walked with the angels. Beloved husband of Janet L. (Hubick) Platek, whom would have been celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on August 24, 2007. Loving and devoted father of Denise L. and Richard T. Wilmus and Ronald J. and Sharon J. Platek; proud Pap of Matthew J. Platek, Brian M. And Nicole Wilmus, Julie M. And Ronald J. Platek, Jr.; loving brother of Theresa Mogielski, Catherine Winovich, Raymond and Vincent Platek and the late Frank, Lawrence, Henry and Edward Platek and Irene Wyzkoski. Devoted nephew of Sophia Gergely. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jerry was a devoted family man not only to his immediate family but as well as to his extended family, an active member and volunteer of St. Athanasius Church, in many capacities, for the past 42 years. He was a devoted and proud employee of West View Water Authority for 33 years. Anything and everything Jerry chose to do he put his whole heart and soul into it.
Friends received Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9PM at T.B. Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church on Monday 10AM. Contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Athanasius Church.
