Age 39, of Cranberry Township, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Monday, August 28, 2023 at her home. “Jenni” was born on March 25, 1984, the beloved daughter of Patricia (Honorable Kevin J.) Flaherty and Edward James Markey (Bobbie Leitkam); loving mother of Owen Markey, who was her entire world; dearly loved sister of Ryan (Carrie) Markey, Erin (Dave) Kester, Carly (Colin) Suierveld, and Conor Flaherty (Erin Sharpe); loving aunt to Thomas and Joseph Markey, Cleo Palombo and River Suierveld. Jenni was loved by many friends.
Jenni graduated from Quaker Valley High School and West Virginia University. She loved basketball, playing from the age of 8 through high school and AAU basketball. She enjoyed running and being outdoors. She loved working with children and recently discovered a new career in child development.
Jenni was an amazing mother, totally dedicated to Owen and his happiness, enjoying their mutual love of roller coasters with their many trips to Cedar Point (her Happy Place) and to Universal Studios Park. She loved spending time with her family, playing games, watching comedies, and celebrating holidays (especially Halloween.)
A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date. Professional arrangements are entrusted to Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township.

Miss Jenni was with my children every day after school. She was lovely and always had a smile on her face. My deepest condolences for your loss – she is dearly missed.

She welcomed us with such joy and humor when we moved here 6 years ago from California when we met at NPL and she was joy and fun every time we saw her. I am so saddened to hear of Jenni’s passing. My heart breaks for her beautiful son, mother & step father, her entire loving family, Owen’s father & family, and the community who knew her well. Though my interactions with her were few, my fond memories with her son on weekends left me knowing his mom was an amazing women who loved him very much. Oh Jenni, my haunted house, giant inflatable, onesie loving friend. It has taken me days to find the right words, and I’m still not sure they’re right. We were supposed to grow into old ladies together, living it up at the retirement center on our super sweet scooters that Aaron was going to build us, but I guess the universe had other plans. You always had a way of seeing the silver linings in everything and I’ll be forever grateful of our friendship. Owen, your mom was so proud of you and loved you so very much, please don’t ever forget that! To you and the rest of the family, my heart aches for all of you. Jenni was a strong, beautiful soul. Family was absolutely everything to her, and she was strong and beautiful because of the strong, beautiful family she had around her. I hope you can find peace in knowing that even though Jenni’s time here was shorter than we all had hoped, the impression she left on us, and many others, was everlasting. Dear Patty and Kevin, Our kids became siblings 26 years ago and love each other like true brothers and sisters; which made it easy for me to feel the same. My heart is broken for you two, Owen, Ryan and Carrie. I loved Jenni and I know my kids feel the loss of a sister. My prayers continue for all of you. We will miss Jenni everyday. She was beautiful, loving, fun and really was a sister thru and thru to my kids. I feel blessed that our families joined together. We are so very sorry about the loss of Jenni. She had my son, Jameson last year in Stepping Stones. We are so grateful for the time she shared with him, and we know she will be deeply missed.
