Jennie Strunk

Age 87, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Weslaco, Texas, passed peacefully Thursday, April 19, in the home. Jennie was born September 8, 1919 in Hiawatha, Kansas, where she spent her childhood and most of her adult life. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing in tournaments throughout the mid-west and at the Broadmoor Golf Club in Colorado. Jennie was an inspiration to all who knew her with her optimistic spirit, and kind and giving ways. Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and beloved husbands Dr. Glenn A. Baird, in 1968, and Dr. Lyle A. Strunk, in 2003. Survivors include daughter, Belinda Stuetelberg and devoted son-in-law, Mark, of Cranberry Township. Grandson, Brian Stuetelberg of Kansas City, Missouri. Granddaughter, Lindsey Stuetelberg and fiancé, Brett Kelly of Atlanta, Georgia. Jennie will be sadly missed by two surviving sisters, three brothers, numerous nieces, nephews and friends throughout the country. Jennie was appreciative of the excellent and loving care that she was given by her medical care team in the Pittsburgh area. Special thanks to Dr. Kiran Rajasenan, and staff of UPMC Cancer Center in Wexford, Dr. Barbara Fardo of Cranberry Township, and special nurses and friends at UPMC Passavant Cranberry.

A memorial service celebrating Jennie’s life will be held at 2:00PM, May 5, 2007, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha, KS. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
