Jennie (Andognozzi) Catalano, age 93, of Ross Township, passed away on November 2, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late George Catalano. Jennie was also the loving sister of Fausto (Paul) Andognozzi (late Jean) and aunt of Vincent Andognozzi. She is also survived by her niece Joanne Steiner (late William), cousins Rosemarie (Fred) Wolfe, John (Kaye) Alioto, and the late Sam Alioto (Karen) and many more loving relatives, godchildren, neighbors and friends – especially Anne Alioto

Jennie was born on August 13, 1931, daughter of the late Fausto and Pauline Demma Andognozzi. She grew up on Spring Garden Avenue, and graduated from Allegheny High School. She met George during this time, and would always proudly and happily say “I married the boy next door.” They married on June 16, 1951. In 1956, George and Jennie built a house in Ross Township where they lived their lives together until George’s passing in 2020 after 69 years of marriage.

Among many other things, Jennie enjoyed knitting, sewing, crafting, volunteering at St. Sebastian Parish, and playing 500 at her multiple card clubs. Jennie was a joy to be around. She always was so happy and positive, and never said a bad word about anyone. A special thank you to Sunrise Senior Living in McCandless where Jennie lived the last 3-/12 years and continued to share her happy, caring, and positive attitude with residents and staff.

Friends received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, St. Sebastian Church, Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

My mom and her family (the Gattos) knew Jenny from her early years. My wife Lynn and I volunteered with and saw Jenny at St Sebastian for several years. She was so positive and upbeat. She loved the Lord. So on behalf of my brothers Jim and John and wife Lynn we pray she is now embraced by the Lord.

Jennie, you helped me to see life could be lived with love and joy, even when life was not very kind. Working with you at Sunrise was one of the greatest honors of my life. I knew you only a short time, but you touched my heart in ways that will last my lifetime. I loved to polka with you, to do puzzles with you and play BINGO with you. Thank you for so much love, no judgement and constant laughter. You were truly an angel on this earth. I miss you so much and will always love you bunches.
