Jeffrey Alan Schwarz, Sr.
Age 71, of Prospect, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his home. Born September 22, 1952, son of the late Frank and Helen Schwarz and his Aunt Thelma Schwarz. Jeff is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Anne (Gormley) Schwarz, whom he married on June 15, 1973; mother-in-law Marguerite Gormley, children, Jeffrey (Judith Fisher) Schwarz Jr., Jason R. (Brooke), Jonathan (Angela Biederman), Jessica (Jonathan) Hamilton; grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papoo”, Sara Elizabeth , Emma Sophia, Corbin Lewis, Lillian Rose, Archer Lawrence, Gracie Fay; siblings Deborah Jackson, Virginia Szoss, Vernon Smith Jr. and Grover Jacob Schrayer III and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his biological parents,
Margaret Anne Gasso and Grover Jacob Schrayer Jr.

Jeff and Betsy were married for more than 50 years raising their four children and doting on their grandchildren. Jeff possessed foundational craftsmanship evidenced in his work at Equitable Gas/Peoples as a master welder. He instilled that sense of pride in his children through sports, coaching and teaching them through their youth. In his free time he enjoyed spending time at WildWood Crest beach NJ, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with Betsy and spending time with his family. He was a member of The North Hills Masonic Lodge 716.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 17th from 2-4 pm and 6-8pm at Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 18th at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Jeff’s name to the Butler County Humane Society and Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
