Jean Evers

Age 79, of McCandless Twp., on Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born in Pittsburgh, June 16, 1935, to the late Helen Lamb Evers and Joseph Evers. Jean served as a nun in the Sisters of Charity and was a longtime teacher at Chartiers Valley school district. She brought love to her family, joy to her friends, and inspiration to her students. She gave selflessly of herself and delighted in celebrating the lives of those around her. Jean’s greatest happiness was in making others feel loved. Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Goehring and Mary Lou Thomas, and her brother, Joseph Evers. She was the beloved aunt of Orr and Joe Goehring; Jeff, Keith, Kenny, Danny, and Chris Evers, Diane Bricker; Linda Smith; Bill, Gary, Kevin, Bruce, and Brian Thomas; Jeanne Osieck; Mary Cooper; and Lyn Eterno. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10 at Saint Maria Goretti, 5323 Penn Avenue. Burial will be held at Cavalry Cemetery in Greenfield.
