James Wanner

Age 82, of Ross Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016. Beloved husband of Barbara (Gozzard) Wanner for 63 years. They were each other’s light, laughter, and pillar. Dear father to proud daughters, Beth Wanner Shanda (Lawrence), and Lynn Wanner Bryan (William); amazing grandfather, (Pap!) to Kimberly Shanda DeAngelis (Dennis) and Sara Shanda Furgiuele (David), Keith Bryan, Danielle Bryan and Taylor Bryan; joyful great-grandfather to Ellianna Catalani DeAngelis, Braydon DeAngelis, Leah Furgiuele and Eva Furgiuele; brother of George Wanner (Shirley), the late Kenneth Wanner, and the late Corrinne Wanner. Close to loving niece, Casey Yeomans (Jerry). Also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Jim was an avid golfer who was a member of Highland Country Club for 38 years. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Engineers’ Society of Western Pennsylvania in ’90-91,Chairman of its Nominating Committee in ’91, its First Vice President in ’93 and served as its President in ’94 where he had the opportunity to introduce Chuck Noll as a speaker at its 110th annual banquet. Quite an honor for the avid Steelers fan that Jim was! He was co-owner and President of Contract Resources, and shareholder in Monaloh Basin Engineers. Family was everything to Jim and brought him his greatest joy. The world has lost an extraordinary man and heaven has gained a loving and caring angel. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp., where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
