Service: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

James “Jim” Kaufold, age 78, died peacefully in his home on January 4, 2025 in Gibsonia, PA. He was a son, a brother, a veteran, a husband and partner, a dad, a pap pap, an uncle, and a friend.

Jim is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Marlene D’Amico; his daughters: Tara (Uros) Stone and Kelly (Nathan) Iverson; his grandchildren: Kaia, Athena, and August Iverson; his siblings: Jerry (Judy) Kaufold and Joan Settlemoyer; along with Marlene’s children: John (Joanne) D’Amico; Dianne (Bruce) Ireland; and Denise (Jeff) Johnson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents: John and Eleanor Kaufold.

Jim was a 1963 graduate of Bellevue High School. He served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. After returning home, Jim embarked on a decades-long career with Bell Telephone (later Verizon) before his retirement. Jim lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and deep devotion to his family and friends. A true outdoorsman, Jim found joy in hunting and fishing and spent a great deal of time at hunting camp in Emporium, PA. He loved Marlene with all his heart. They traveled extensively, including spending many winters soaking up the warmth of Florida and the Carolinas. Jim was immensely proud of his daughters and grandchildren. His journey as a father began with his ex-wife, Mary Kaufold, whose friendship he cherished.

Jim was well-known for never missing someone’s birthday or anniversary; he loved the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates; he was relentlessly teased by his family for his continued use of a flip phone; and you could call him anything you wanted, so long as it wasn’t late for dinner.

Jim’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the countless lives he touched. A celebration of Jim’s life will be planned for later this year.
