James “Jim” George Spisak, 92, passed away on July 15, 2026. Son of the late George and Mary Spisak. Husband to Joanne Spisak; father to Douglas Spisak (and wife Diana); grandfather to Claire Marie Spisak; brother to Patricia LaMaur; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim started out his career as a pattern maker for Pitt-Des Moines Steel where he helped architect the St. Louis Gateway Arch. He worked most of his life as an electrical engineer for U.S. Steel & Orbital. Jim loved to go fishing, repair cars, build just about anything, listen to classical music, learn to play piano, but most of all, Jim loved to talk with anyone who would pull up an ear. He cherished being around family and friends, telling his favorite stories from the past, and making them bigger and better than the last time told. We will all dearly miss him and the time he made available to help each one of us in any way he could.

Friends are being received Tuesday from 6 PM – 8 PM at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10 AM at St. Athanasius Church, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the charity of your choice in memory of Jim.
