Jack L. Moore
Of Wexford, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on June 6, 2020 after a long illness. He was born April 20, 1932 to James Moore and Nellie Olson Moore in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduating from Peabody High School, Jack served in active duty in the US Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 and completed his service in the US Army Reserves until 1961. He completed his B.S. in Business at the University of Pittsburgh and worked for several steel companies during his career. Jack was musically talented and enjoyed the arts, his friends and family, and his dogs. He will be remembered for his generosity and sense of humor. Jack was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers Kathleen Moore, James Moore, June Kimball, Robert Moore, Olga Mugridge, Ruth Dahms, Peggy Loebig and Nancy Burton. He is survived by Dale Pennington, William Hirsch, M.D., several nieces, nephews and close friends.

Family and friends are welcome Thursday from 4-8 pm at Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Services will be held Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home, with Rev. Matt Klenk officiating. Private interment will be held at The National Cemetery of The Alleghenies. Donations in Jack’s memory can be made to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.

    John was such a great friend to Dale and Bill. Always helpful when I had questions. Many animals were blessed with his attention over the years. Now he and Cookie can cuddle be together.
