Irene will always have a special place in my heart. 5 years working at Concordia and I have never been tested as much as sweet Irene tested me! She also picked me up when I was down, made me smile when I didn’t want to, and gave me hope when I thought there was none. Dan and Karen, it was a pleasure and an honor getting to know your mom, and you as well. Please don’t be strangers. There will be lots of bingo and pokeno to be played once everything settles. Blue chips and candy bars only (Dan says no more stuffed animals!). Love you all SO much.

To all the Thorntons we send our love out to you during this difficult time. Aunt Irene was a second Mom to me and all the nieces and nephews. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling and enriched childhood than having my aunt and uncle and cousins so close. Our parents were the best of friends. So many good memories not only for the Dodson’s but for the entire Clancy clan. 25+ years of family reunions at the cottage with multi generations enjoying each others company every August and Aunt Irene and Uncle Paul and you kids would not have had it any other way. We love you and are with you today and always.

Aunt Irene is a good example of perseverance. While life here wasn’t always the easiest road to travel, she kept going, knowing that the show must go on. Now that her work here is done, may she rest in peace. Love, Jamie, Heather, and family.

You will be missed Aunt Irene. I have so many fond memories of our family reunions at the cottage. I imagine you now happy as you reunite with loved ones lost before you. Deepest condolences to the family. Love, Jennie, Niall, Noah, Cian, and Ella

Aunt Irene you shall be greatly missed, but the memories shall live on. Great reunions at the cottage and lots of good times in general. One of my favorite memories is when Janet, Joyce and I visited you in Ft Myers Beach. Steeler jerseys, church-good time, won the last playoff game and off to the super bowl(we won). Fly high my girl, love you. Xo Joanne
