Herman Braunstein

age 85, went home to be with the Lord on August 2, 2009 peacefully with his family at his side at the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, and was a loving father of his seven children: Thomas (Edith), Michael (Linda), Marcy (David Jones), Diane (John) Curry, Laura (Dale) Wiggins, Mary Ann (Robert) Sweeney and Anthony (Dana). He leaves 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Herman was the youngest of 8 children: Lena (the late John) Paczan, Charles (Marian) and was preceded in death by Frank, William, Robert (Florence), Felix (Mitzi), Joseph (Marie). He proudly served his country on Iwo Jima during WWII as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps. After living on the North Side for many years, Herman moved to Cranberry Township. More recently, Herman lived at the Ross Hill Retirement Residence in Ross Township, where he made many very dear friends. Herman was a bricklayer by trade and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, cooking and was a cowboy at heart. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Family and friends received at the Devlin Funeral Home, 806 Perry Highway in Ross Twp. on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. A Christian funeral service will be held at North Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church on Ingomar Road on Thursday, time later.
