Age 79, formerly of Braddock and presently of West View Boro, passed away peacefully on Monday May 18, 2015 with his family at his side. Loving and devoted husband for 34 years to Margaret (McCloskey) Schmitt. Son of the late Leo and Loretta (Ebbert) Schmitt; Brother of Katherine (the late Jack) Garrity of Phoenix, AZ, the late Robert (Margie) Schmitt, and the late Helen (Gordon) O’Keefe. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Harold retired from the Westinghouse Corp., Bettis Plant after 36 years, and was a member of the Astro Flying Club; He was also a proud veteran of the US Air Force. Friends received Friday 2-4, 6-8 PM at the Devlin Funeral Home, Inc. 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church, Perrysville, Saturday at 10:00 AM. Donations may be made in his name “Mr. Cereal” to the North Hills Food Bank, 845 Perry Hw. Pgh, Pa. 15229.
As my Uncle, I remember the adventurous one of the family. He always had stories that kept your interest. His heart was kind and he shared it generously. I am lucky to be a part of his life.
