On May 15 at age 85, at Sherwood Oaks Nursing Facility, Cranberry Twp., Pa. Graduated from Waynesburg College in 1942 with a BS degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. Worked at H.J. Heinz from 1946 until 1984 in food technology and packaging. Served as a meteorologist in the US Navy in World War II. Past director of Sherwood Oaks Resident’s Association and an Elder at Hiland Presbyterian Church. Avid fisherman, reader, traveler and story teller.
Beloved husband for 62years of Betty George Queer. Father of Barbara Rittenhouse (Tom), David Quist (Judy), Tom Queer (Cindy) and George Quinton (Patty) Grandfather of Kelly & Chrissy Eddins, Cella & Michael Quist and Ryan Quinton. Great grandfather of Dylan Eddins. Brother of Tom Queer (Jean).
Visitation Wed May 17 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Devlin Funeral Home 806 Perry Hwy Ross Twp. Burial Will be private in Hiland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Sherwood Oaks auditorium on Sat May 20 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hiland Presbyterian Church, 845 Perry Highway, Pgh, Pa 15229 or Sherwood Oaks Resident’s Association, 800 Norman Drive, Cranberry Twp, Pa 16066.
