Age 86, of McCandless Twp., passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Son of the late Donald and Elizabeth (Strang) Haney, devoted husband of 62 years to the late Dolores J. (Smith) Haney, loving father of Donald (Mary Lou), Jeffrey (Debra), and James (Kathleen); devoted grandfather of James (Joan), Ross (Christine), Ryan and Rachel. Harold attended Oliver High School and was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran, who served with the 1905-1906 Ordinance Ammunition Group in Europe, with whom he enjoyed attending their reunions over the years. Harold retired from US Steel, American Bridge Division after 35 years of service as a welder/fitter and safety man. He was a member of the USWA #1270 and the VFW. Harold had many interests he pursued including writing about Pittsburgh labor history, building several homes, family genealogy, scrapbooking his WWII experiences and caretaker of the family’s many pets over the years. We know you are at peace now and reunited with Mom watching over us. Until we meet again, all our love. As per Harold’s wishes, there will be no public viewing.
