Geraldine A. Cody

February 06, 1936 - November 13, 2024

Visitation: Monday, November 18, 2024, 2-6 p.m.; Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., Ross Twp.

Geraldine Cody, age 88, of McCandless, formerly Bradford Woods, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 13 surrounded by her loud, loving family.

Daughter of Margaret and Edward Staudenmaier and beloved wife of Patrick for 70 years. Adoring mother of Kevin (Lisa) Cody, Colleen (James) Monteverde, the late Timothy Cody, Mary (the late Miles) Young, and Brian Cody. Dazzling grandmother of Caraline (Domenic) Falcettoni, Casey (Jon) Pratkanis, Molly (Jeff) Petrilli, Adam (Anya) Monteverde, the late Kelly Cody, and Tyghe (Haley) Cody. Proud great-grandmother of Carter, Lou, Wes, Sloane, Ella, and Paige.

Gerry had a zest for life that was infectious. Her smile brightened every room and her laugh was loud and joyous. Always the life of the party, Gerry was someone everyone wanted to be around. She hosted Christmas Eve celebrations for more than 50 years. Her signature recipes – hot crab dip and Cody meatballs – will always be remembered.

Gerry loved traveling, crossword puzzles, playing pranks, drinking scotch, laying in the sun, reading fast, trying new restaurants, and Marco Island. Her greatest joy of all though was her family. Gerry and her husband Pat shared countless adventures together for 74 years and with their five children. Known as Nannie to her grandchildren, she adored being a grandmother and creating memories with them.

She was truly one of a kind. Her warmth, fun-loving attitude, and enthusiasm will be sorely missed.

Nannie, we know you’re singing in the rain up there. We’ll always sing in the rain for you.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 806 Perry Hwy, North Hills. Service and Interment private.

Just thinking of Gerry brings a smile to my face and I can feel her warmth and kindness. My dad was thrilled to have visited and spent the afternoon with Pat and Gerry recently. He couldn’t tell us enough about their time together and, of course, they spent much of the time laughing while reminiscing. Our family loved her and we love all of the Codys. From our family to yours, wishing you love and peace throughout the days ahead and always.
