Gerald R. O’Brien, Sr. of Ross Twp., on Monday January 22, 2018, beloved husband of Bridget A. (Watson) O’Brien; loving father of Erin A. O’Brien (Tom Hartman), Gerald R. O’Brien, Jr. (Lauren) and Ian O’Brien (Dawn); brother of Janet Zubik and the late Donald O’Brien; proud grandfather of Maura, Mary Cate, Tatum, Patrick, Cameron, Shannon, Ireland, Norah, Declan, Logan, Liam and Bryce. Friends received Thursday 2-8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Athanasius Church Friday 10 a.m. Jerry spent most of his life showing his pride in his Irish heritage as a member of the AOH and Knights of Equity. He was a selfless servant to the Ross Twp., community for the last 15 years, as a Commissioner and tax collector. He was a devout Catholic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benedictine Sisters of Pittsburgh, 3526 Bakerstown Rd., Bakerstown, PA 15007.

Bridget and Family,
So sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. He and I just had breakfast a couple of weeks ago before I left for Florida. It was ten years ago this week that we all went together to the Super Bowl in Tampa to watch our Steelers win.
I enjoyed his company, his wit,his perseverance, friendship and serving with him as a Ross Commissioner. He loved Bridget and his family and will be missed. God Bless.
