Tami and Family, I learned yesterday that Gary had passed on, while playing keno next to the machine he always sat on while playing at the Rivers Casino. I spoke with him many times about his conditions and his tremendous fight with a disease that killed my father quickly. The last time I spoke with him, he recanted that his cancer had returned and how exhausted he was, but you’d never know it. He was always impeccably dressed and we always spoke about what he was goining through over the years. He certainly was a fighter and after many years of playing quarter keno he finally hit a jackpot I believe in October ….he was ecstatic!!!! Someone came up to me yesterday and told me he had passed. God Bless Gary and all of you…..I enjoyed his company.
I didn’t know about this until today. I’m pretty out-of-the-loop, so my apologies. I knew Gary very well, back in the day. So sorry to hear of his struggle and loss. Knew Greg even better, so I extend my sympathies to all the family!
To Tami, extended family, and friends.
I just today found out about the loss of Gary. My deepest condolences as I know Gary will be genuinely missed.
As another person commented, many of us hung out together in the 80’s and then as in most cases people move in different directions. I’ll always remember Gary’s unique sense of humor and his dedication to family and the community.
We know that he is in the Hands of our Lord God now and we will all get to see him again when it’s our turn to leave this world.
We were very sad to hear of Gary’s passing. He was a great friend and an inspiration to all of us. I can still picture us hanging out between football practices at St. Sebastian’s enjoying our 15 cent McDonald hamburgers. Rest in peace, Tom and Olga Smyers.
So sorry for your loss. He will be missed by many. Those of of who were fortunate to have known him, will always carry with us his memory.

Gary, I remember so well you and Rona comparing, many years ago, the various Rheumatoid lumps and bumps on your joints……while grasping beers!!!! And laughing!!
You have fought so tenaciously through much more than most can imagine.
Only sorry we did not manage another beer as planned on Thursday.
To Tami, Courtney, Samantha, Jack, all your family and huge circle of friends who knew you so well, they will always be able to reflect on all the good times they enjoyed and shared with you. Your photograph with your twinkle tells it all.

R.I.P. Gary , I was a classmate. Gary was always a good person, The last time I kind of ran into him was about 40 years ago. I had just sold a really nice muscle car ( 69- Old’s 442 ) . I decided to give it 1 more power run on Babcock . After doing a burn out & going through the gears I saw the flashing lights behind me. Ross police / Gary , He said ” Glesner ” What the Hell are you doing ? I kinda explained . God bless ya Gary !

RIP Gary. You made so many proud with your positive fearless attitude. Gary was an inspiration to me when i was diagnosed with colon cancer a couple years after he had dealt with it. He gave me hope and shared what he had to endure to survive. He was the ultimate survivor. Not feeling sorry for himself, his concerns focused on his wonderful family. He was always there to help and serve others. Always enjoyed crossing paths with him and reminiscing. Fun guy to hang with. Condolences to all his family. I am very sorry for your loss.
