Of Ross Twp., on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born August 9, 1957, in Pittsburgh, PA. Son of the late Walter and Mary Ann Gielas; beloved brother of Sue Ralston (Jim), Chris Grybel (Robert), John J. Gielas (Debra Seligman), Joseph J. Gielas (Kriss), and Walter F. Gielas (Ree Miller); also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Friends received Friday 3-7 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. I am so sad to hear of Frank’s passing, which I only learned of today, over a year later. Frank was a great friend for many years, going all the way back to the 1980’s. We worked together at American Robot, Stäubli Unimation, Converge Robotics and RE2. Besides being a wonderful and kind person, Frank was also one of the best technologists I’ve worked with. He had a deep understanding of electronics design and how to make things that work. Everyone who worked with Frank always learned something from him and he always gained their respect.
I will miss your smiling face and our always interesting conversations, my friend. May you be surrounded now by the peace you always longed for.

Frank was a friendly person. He always made me feel welcome when I was working with the rabbits. I’ll miss seeing him around. He’ll be greatly missed by all those who knew him and especially the rabbits.
We will always hold you in our hearts… you taught us sooo much in your special ways as a volunteer.No one can ever replace your love and meticulous care for our four legged furry friends . Thanks for the simple lessons of love and life!
We will always remember the special ways Frank shared his time with us at Animal Friends. He was a great caregiver to all the bunnies and a great example of love to God’s creatures. We will miss our friend who taught us so much !!!

So sorry to learn of Frank’s passing. I worked alongside him for many years. He was the type of co-worker you looked forward to interacting with. He always had something interesting to talk about.
Such a kind person that Frank was will forever be missed. When I came to volunteer with the rabbits he would always be the first to ask me how everything has been in my life. I could tell he really cared for the animals and was always genuine with his words and actions. He will be missed and his legacy will never be forgotten.
Frank was a fellow bunny volunteer at Animal Friends, and a great friend himself. He had such gentle soul and his dedication and love for his bunnies, past and present, was unwavering. I’ll miss the uplifting and kind energy he spread whenever he entered a room. Rest In Peace, friend💛
This news saddens me deeply. Frank was the most kind, reliable and trustworthy rabbit volunteer. We would go eat pizza on Weds and talk about everything. Truly one of a kind. He will be so missed by so many.

Frank was a gentle soul who made a difference. His caring disposition was evident in every conversation, whether it be with close friends or people he just met. I am a better person just knowing Frank.
Frank and I go back all my life. He was a special person, extremely intelligent, a giving heart, a listener. Frank had a smile that would light up his whole face. Frank had his salty moments, don’t we all, but I knew I could always go to him for a kind ear and I knew that he sincerely cared about me. A family can only stay together for so many years with a solid foundation of love and Frank was a big part of our foundation. I miss you Frank but I know you are now at peace. I love you big brother, until we meet again 💕💕
Frank was a loving, caring, wonderful, beautiful, and all around great brother!!!! He loved nature and gave his heart and more to his family, friends and bunnies. When I would stay with him on Friday’s and watch movies, he always praised everyone at AF and talked about how he loved his bunnies!! He really loved and enjoyed everyone there!
Brother, your going to be truly missed, especially in May on our camping trips!! Your at peace!! Have a cigar and play with the bunnies!!

We spent so many hours at Animal Friends and at Sunny Jims talking about everything – pets, sports, music, work, random celestial events, you name it, you could talk to him about anything, and we did. He was a great listener and great to talk to. I will miss talking to him and texting him random pet pictures. He was such a beautiful soul and a wonderful friend.
Frank was a kind and gentle soul. His love for animal friends and the bunnies was endless. His place was in the floor with the buns. He helped my former foster Riley find her forever home. He will be missed
Frank was such a caring person. My first bun run (we love our bunnies) after my cancer surgery, he offered his support. He was there for me if I needed to talk. I don’t think I will ever be as strong as Frank was.
It’s so sad to hear about this. I will miss Frank. He boarded his bunny with me when he needed to leave town and would ask for my availability to do it again. He loved them so much and he will be missed a lot.
Frank was such a loving, generous and gentle person. I will always remember how much he cared for and adored all of the rabbits at Animal Friends. His pet rabbits meant the world to him. I will always cherish the time we spent volunteering together and going out to eat at Sunny Jim’s. I know that he is now at peace and together with his precious Chessie.
Frank was a fellow bunny volunteer and who spent countless hours gently socializing the bunnies at Animal Friends. At the Bun Runs, you could always count on seeing Frank on the floor surrounded by bunnies. He loved to tell us about his own bunnies, Zoey and Tommy. Frank taught and mentored many volunteers. He had a caring heart as big as the moon. I’m proud to have called him my friend and will miss seeing him at the shelter. Every time I see a bunny, or a Subaru, I will think of Frank.
Frank was such a kind person. He treated every being with respect and care. Seeing his smiling face each week at Animal Friends was something I always looked forward to. His love for the bunnies and his fellow volunteers was easy to see. I am going to miss Frank very dearly.
I had the joy of knowing Frank for 5 years. We volunteered together with the bunnies at Animal Friends. Frank was so kind and soft spoken that I was instantly drawn to him. I would purposely work with him as my grooming partner for bunny spa day or sit with him at Animal Friend events. He was a kind friend and always had a warm disposition. I will miss him deeply. I know all the rabbits in heaven have surrounded him.
I will miss Frank for so many reasons. Seeing his smile, with a friendly greeting every time I saw him at AF. His love of rabbits was so easy to see, and they loved him back. The few times we had conversations, about things other than rabbits, always had me thinking, and smiling. Frank was a kind, caring and strong person. Rest in peace, Frank. Say hi to Chessie.

When I worked at Animal Friends, Frank would always be patient with me and my fear of rabbits.
After making fun of me initially , he helped me get to the point where I could touch and hold them. I have no doubt he will be dearly missed.
