Of Ross Twp., passed away at Passavant Hospital, on Thursday, November 27, 2014, with her loving daughters and granddaughter by her side. Wife of the late Bernard P. Hoffman; loving mother of Bernadette A. Hoffman (Mary) and Lisa L. Pappert (David); sister of Rita Claus and the late William, James, Jack, Thomas, Mary and Joseph; grandmother of Jennifer Pappert (Joe); great- grandmother of Tyler Foor; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills where a Blessing Service will be held Monday 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Animal Friends. She was born November 21, 1923, in Pittsburgh to John and Margaret Mitchell. She proudly served her country overseas during WWII. After the war she attended trade school for Cosmetology, earning a beautician license and opening her own business. She met her future husband on a blind date arranged by her sister at a local roller rink. After ten years of marriage she felt she was blessed when her two daughters were born. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed shopping for loved ones and spending time with her family. She was able to overcome many challenges in her life with the love and support from her family. After the passing of her husband, Ben in the early 90s, she went back to school to finish her education and earned her GED, of which she was very proud. She will be forever remembered for her loving and caring nature.
