Elizabeth Jane Fancher passed away on Tuesday, June 5 at the family home in Ross Township. Betsy was born in Hammond, Indiana on November 12, 1960, the daughter of John and Joan Gregory Fancher.
She attended St. Sebastian elementary school and was a member of North Hills High School, class of 1979. She graduated from Penn State in 1983 with a degree in Microbiology and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Pitt. She serviced as a Regional Nurse and Director of Nursing for many years. Betsy had many interests and enjoyed camping, boating, gardening, and traveling. She enjoyed reading American history, especially the Civil War and visited many of the sites. She is survived by her parents, her sister and brother in law, Leslie and Barbara Fancher Jones and their daughter Brenna of Orlando, FL; her sister, Laura, also of Orlando; and her sister Kristin of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her uncle, Robert Fancher of East Hampton, CT and several cousins.
Friends received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Devlin Funeral Home, INC., 806 Perry Hwy., North Hills where a Blessing Service will be held Friday 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Betsy had many friends, who, along with her family will cherish her memory.
