Elio R. Gonano, 85, of Ross Township, formerly of North Side, died Saturday, July 2, 2011. He was the loving husband of Dorothy (O’Hara) Gonano; loving father of Lisa (Thomas) Heck, Deana (Daniel) Nell, David (Frances) Evanovich, and Diane (Jeffrey) Macedonia; and loving grandfather of Heather, Anthony, Alexander, Christopher, Nicholas, Cameron and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Roman Gonano; and brothers, James, Remy, Reno and Reo; also survived by nieces. Elio was a Stonemason and an active member of the Stonemason’s Union Local 33 for 41 years and served as a business manager of the union for the last 15 years. He was a Navy World War II veteran and saw action in Okinawa. Elio was a 32nd degree Mason of Avalon Masonic Lodge 657 since 1955. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
