McALLONIS EDWARD C., DMD
Age 86 of McCandless Twp., on Thursday, August 18, 2011. Beloved husband for 48 years of Dorothy (Golembiewski ) McAllonis; devoted father of Karen Griffin (Daniel); proud Pap Pap of Alyssa and Tyler Griffin; brother of Raymond McAllonis and the late Rita McAllonis, Margie Noe, and Jenny Martin; also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at T. B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Hwy., Ross Twp. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Teresa of Avila Church on Monday 10 a.m. Ed was a 1943 graduate of West View High School. While at West View High, he was a star on the football and basketball teams. After graduation Ed enlisted in the US Navy where he served and endured battles in the Asiatic Pacific during World War II. He was discharged from the Navy in 1946. In 1952, Ed graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He practiced in the West View area from 1952 until his retirement in 1990. Ed was highly dedicated to his profession and practiced expert and compassionate dentistry. He was greatly respected by his patients. After retirement, Ed and his wife enjoyed extensive world travel. He also enjoyed numerous hobbies, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
