Dr. Eugene Scioscia, Sr.

Age 74 of Treesdale, suddenly in San Diego, Ca on Wed. July 20,2005. Beloved husband of Evelyn (Kark) Scioscia for 51 years. Loving father of Angela L. Scioscia, MD., and her husband Steven of San Diego, CA. Eugene A. Scioscia, Jr., MD., and his wife Susan of Pine Twp. (Chair of OBGYN Dept of Allegheny General Hospital), Debora Schloesser and her husband Rudy of Randolph, NJ., Paul J. Scioscia, MD and his wife Elyssa of Ponte Vedra, FL and the late Andrea Maria Scioscia. Brother of Oreste Scioscia of Sewickley and Joseph A. Scioscia of Bellevue. Also survived by 12 grandchildren. Dr. Scioscia was a graduate of Duquesne University and Marquette School of Medicine. He was a member of Allegheny General Hospital Senior Staff in OBGYN for 20 years and former President of Medical Staff at Devine Providence Hospital; a member of Allegheny County Medical Society for more than 50 years and a member of the Duquesne Club. He served with the US Navy. He retired in 1992 and lived on Kiawah Island, SC for 10 years.
Visitation Sun 7-9 PM and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Devlin Funeral Home of Cranberry, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Twp. 724-772-8800. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Richard Church Tuesday 11 AM. Interment will follow in North Side Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Eugene’s name to the Mepkin Abbey, 1098 Mepkin Abbey Road, Moncks Corner, South Carolina, 29461.
