of West View, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 86, from a long and difficult illness. Born January 20, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Dorothy (Sobota) Sham; beloved wife of Dennis Marous, “her Pook”; loving mother of Karl Schmidt and Christine (Jerry Mazur) Bauer; devoted grandmother of Justin (Elaine) Schmidt and Adam (Kim) Bauer; and great-grandmother of Lillian Schmidt. Dot was predeceased in death by her sisters, Sr. Dolores Sham, C.D.S. and Matilda “Tillie” Virostek; and her brothers, Joseph Sham, James Sham, Richard Sham, and John Sham. She is survived by her sister, Alice Hamilton, and Mary Broge; in-laws, Debbie (Joe) Balobeck and Jeff (Mary) Marous; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Dot was a strong woman who has a passion for music and singing. She loved to surround herself with her favorite things, birds, butterflies, flowers, and her family. She was thoughtful and compassionate, giving her loving spirit freely to any soul she encountered. Her kind heart and smile will be greatly missed by all. May God take her into his loving arms and grant her eternal peace in heaven. Friends received Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Thursday at 10 AM.
