of West View, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 86, from a long and difficult illness. Born January 20, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Dorothy (Sobota) Sham; beloved wife of Dennis Marous, “her Pook”; loving mother of Karl Schmidt and Christine (Jerry Mazur) Bauer; devoted grandmother of Justin (Elaine) Schmidt and Adam (Kim) Bauer; and great-grandmother of Lillian Schmidt. Dot was predeceased in death by her sisters, Sr. Dolores Sham, C.D.S. and Matilda “Tillie” Virostek; and her brothers, Joseph Sham, James Sham, Richard Sham, and John Sham. She is survived by her sister, Alice Hamilton, and Mary Broge; in-laws, Debbie (Joe) Balobeck and Jeff (Mary) Marous; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Dot was a strong woman who has a passion for music and singing. She loved to surround herself with her favorite things, birds, butterflies, flowers, and her family. She was thoughtful and compassionate, giving her loving spirit freely to any soul she encountered. Her kind heart and smile will be greatly missed by all. May God take her into his loving arms and grant her eternal peace in heaven. Friends received Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 806 Perry Highway, North Hills. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Thursday at 10 AM.

As my dad’s next door neighbor, Dotty took loving care of him especially in his last years. Give Al a hug. Thank God for the angel next door. What a wonderful friend.

I will always remember Dot’s energy, generosity and the joy she brought to my cousin, Den. Many people will miss her loving spirit but I believe her spirit will always live on. Angelo and I send love to Den and all of Dot’s family.
God Bless Dot. She is in heaven with all that have gone before her, watching over the rest of us she left behind.
Dottie was a bright and wonderful woman – always with a smile on her face and a kind word on her lips. She made me feel very welcome as a neighbor and friend. We will miss her, indeed.
Dot was such a lovely lady, her smile was beautiful and lit up a room. I love seeing her in the salon and her giving me a huge hug, she is pain free and surrounded with her loved ones all in the care of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, well done good and faithful servant
