Donald Raymond Rectenwald, of Ross Township, died peacefully Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation. He was born Nov. 25, 1932, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eva (Burns) Rectenwald; and beloved husband of 58 years to Mary Catherine (Callio) Rectenwald. Donald was the loving father of Anita (Phil), Joan (Patrick), Steven (Sherri), Carol (Jim), Teresa (Mike) and the late Donnie; caring grandfather of Kristin, Jennifer, Kimberly, James, Tracey, Daniel, Michelle, Kelly and Shanna; proud great-grandfather of Nathaniel Hamilton; also survived by a sister-in-law, Audrey Rectenwald; and many nieces and nephews. He was an avid genealogist and became a charter member of the First Families of Western Pennsylvania. Donald served as a sergeant in the Army during Korea. We shall always carry him with us in our hearts. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at T.B. DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME, 806 Perry Highway, North Hills, where a blessing service will be held at 12:00 Noon. Saturday.
